Should I repair or replace my air conditioner?
It depends on age, the cost of the repair, and refrigerant type. Units over 12 to 15 years old with a major failure, or systems still on R-22, often make more sense to replace. We give you both numbers on the same visit and let you decide.
Why is there ice on my AC lines?
Ice usually means low airflow or low refrigerant. A dirty filter, a failed blower, or a leak can all cause it. Turn the system off, switch the fan to on to thaw the coil, and call us. Running it frozen can damage the compressor.
Do you repair heat pumps and ductless mini splits?
Yes. We service heat pumps in both cooling and heating mode and ductless mini split systems from the major brands. Diagnostics follow the same process as central air, and we carry common parts for both types on the truck.
Can you just add refrigerant to my system?
We can, but a system that is low has a leak. We find and fix the leak first when possible, then charge the system to the manufacturer's specification. Topping off without a repair means paying for refrigerant again next summer, and it is harder on the compressor.
